Scottsdale Solar Panel Detach and Reset for Any Roof Type
Scottsdale is not one kind of roof. Central and south Scottsdale run mostly tile and shingle on older, established homes. North Scottsdale has large custom homes with flat foam roofs, especially on newer contemporary builds.
Different materials, same problem when solar is already on the roof: the panels and racking have to come off before the roofing work starts and go back on and get reconnected once it is finished. Phoenix Solar Removal handles that piece regardless of what is under the panels.
From Old Town to North Scottsdale
A roof job in central Scottsdale is usually tile or shingle on a home that has been standing for decades. Further north, custom homes are more likely to carry a flat foam roof, which gets recoated or replaced on its own schedule. We work with roofing companies on both ends of that range, handling the solar side while the roofer handles the roof.
- Tile and shingle common in central and south Scottsdale
- Foam roofs common on newer custom homes to the north
- Solar side handled the same way regardless of roof material
Foam Roofs Need the Panels Off Too
Foam roofing is common on flat-roof contemporary homes in north Scottsdale, and it gets serviced differently than tile or shingle. That does not change what has to happen with the solar system. Panels and racking come off before the foam is recoated or torn off, and go back on once the roof work is done.
A foam recoat is routine maintenance, not always a full tear-off, but a full foam replacement is closer to what a tile or shingle tear-off looks like for scheduling purposes. Either way, the panels are off the roof before work starts and back on once it is done.
Documentation for High-Value Claims
A reroof on a custom home is still a reroof, and if it is tied to an insurance claim, the file needs a clean paper trail. We document the panels and racking with before-and-after photos formatted for the claim file, so the roofing company has what the insurer asks for.
Cleaning and Monitoring
For systems that are not coming off a roof, we also clean and inspect panels and monitor production. It is a separate service from detach-and-reset, and either one can be booked on its own.
Dust and debris are part of living in the desert, and a system that has not been checked in a while can lose production without anyone noticing. A cleaning and inspection visit does not require a roofing job to be scheduled first.
Questions
Straight answers.
Do you work on foam roofs, or only tile and shingle?
All of them. The detach-and-reset process is the same regardless of what material is on the roof underneath the panels.
Can you provide before-and-after photos for an insurance adjuster or property manager?
Yes. Before-and-after photos of the panels and racking are formatted for the claim file and provided as part of the job.
Do you offer panel cleaning and monitoring, or only the detach-and-reset job?
Both. Cleaning, inspection, and production monitoring are available as their own service, separate from a reroof.

Tell us the address, roughly how many panels are up there, and when the roofer wants the deck clear. We will come back with what the solar side of the job takes.
